Random Acts of Kindness: November Wrap-up

{Click on the RAK button above to be re-directed to our Book Soulmates Store on Amazon. You can find all your favorite titles there and add them to your shopping cart.}

The 11th month of RAK is now over. To end the month of thankfulness, we want to thank everyone who participated and sent out books. You guys are the bestest!

As usual, you can include a link to your wrap-up post below to share the RAKs that you are thankful for.

As always, thanks to all for everyone's continued participation and support of our RAK program...because sharing the love of books is AWESOME!

Got questions? We'll VLOG the answers!

Question Pictures, Images and Photos
Thank you to all who assisted us by answering our little survey.  Your input is greatly valued!

One of the things that you guys mentioned you want to see return are our VLOGS :) We also asked what kind of vlogs you'd like to see and quite a few of you wanted us to do an interview vlog, where YOU ask us the questions.

So, let's try this again...

What is it about Isalys and/or Vanessa that you've wondered about?
You can ask us anything, such as:

Exactly how many shoes does Isalys own? (I'll give you a clue: A LOT! lol)
Where has Vanessa been hiding?
What's our favorite reading spot?

Here's your chance!
Leave a comment below with your question(s).
They could be personal, blog related or book related.

Once we've collected all the questions, we'll VLOG the answers back to you.
Fun, right? We thought so too!

Time to reinvent Book Soulmates!

Some months ago, Book Soulmates fell off the map!  You all know that blogging takes a lot of work & dedication and we simply weren't able to keep up with it like we used to.  Vanessa had gotten busy trying to start her own business and I (Isalys) had some personal issues I was dealing with.  At that point, the blog became less hobby and more chore!

The good news is that things have settled down a bit and absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder because we miss blogging!  We miss the camaraderie!  We miss you guys and being a part of this awesome community and we feel it's time to start fresh!

Last summer, we devised a survey with a series of simple questions to determine what was working, what wasn't and what could use improvement.  We got some good feedback but we want to hear from you again.  Sorry if we're bugging you with these surveys, it's just that your opinions are very important to us!

If you filled out the survey last summer, don't worry about doing it again.
One of our goals is to simplify and streamline our blog so your answers will help us determine what stays and what goes!

Book Soulmates 2012 Survey

PS:  We plan to relaunch in January.  Hoping to come up with some good stuff for you guys by then.

THANK YOU for...well, everything!

The leaves are changing color (somewhere!), the air is cool and crisp (somewhere!) and people are switching out flip-flops for boots (somewhere!) and all this means that October, our favorite month and time of year is officially here!  My oh my, where has 2012 gone?

Please read carefully & follow all rules!  Thank you!
  • Please sign-up each month that you can participate (and by participate, we mean give as well as receive).
  • Show off your participation by grabbing our RAK button (code is in the right sidebar).
  • Create a wish list (on Amazon, Goodreads, or your blog, etc) and post it in the Google Doc located in each R.A.K post for the month.
  • If you choose to do a R.A.K for someone, check out their wish list and contact that blogger directly for their information.
  • Once you receive a RAK, send us an our new email to [rakbybooksoulmates @ gmail . com] so that we can update the Google Doc. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SEND EMAILS TO THIS ADDRESS!
  • E-book participation is limited to files being gifted directly to a person from the e-book store. Amazon's Kindle Store is set up to allow this, as well as the Kobo store and we believe Barnes & Noble with Nook as well.
  • At the end of the month, SHOW US YOUR R.A.K by making a "RAK Wrap-Up" post.  This post should include who you SENT gifts to as well who you RECEIVED gifts from :)
OPEN TO EVERYONE including all our International brethren!
Remember, there's always the Book Depository and they offer FREE shipping!

If you have any questions regarding RAK, please contact us via the following: rakbybooksoulmates @ gmail . com

1. When talking about RAK on Twitter, please use the hashtag: #RAK. It makes it much easier to keep track of the conversations, answer questions and/or tweet back! =)
2. When submitting your wish list, please make sure that it is set to PUBLIC viewing. Some people have had trouble with wish lists that were set to private. We want to be sure that no one is left out of getting great RAKs.
3. Some of you have gotten frustrated because you can't get your links to appear active. This is a very easy fix :) Just make sure that when you enter your link, do NOT hit the Enter key. Instead, hit the TAB key which will send you to the next field on the form. Additional spaces entered after the link will leave the link inactive.  However, if this does happen to you, no worries, we'll fix it for you.
