Isa took 1 too many Debbie Downers

Hi everyone!

I wanted to take a minute to sorta just "chat" with you. I do chat with a lot of you via Twitter but that 140 character limit is just not cutting it, lol.

I am trying so hard to get back on the horse here and life has not been kind lately :(

I have always tried to be "glass half full" gal. Try to find the reason and positivity in things and frankly, that's getting harder & harder to do. I'm realizing that my Facebook statuses and my tweets lately have just been so negative and even angry! I really don't like that! I don't want to be that girl that everyone's like, "Oh, there she goes again with all her complaining".

I feel like I owe you all apologies because it's not who I am and you know this about me. I'm writing this not just to explain myself to you but for myself as well because it feels good to get things off my chest.

Since June, I had in-laws visiting and staying in my house, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, one brother lost his girlfriend and job, my husband & I went through a difficult experience in trying to start a family, work has been INSANELY STRESSFUL and now my other brother isn't getting along with my parents so I have to play referee. I may be over-sharing but I feel like telling you all this will help you understand why I've been the way I've been lately.

I want to thank you all for your support and jokes on Twitter! Laughter is the BEST medicine and it helps more than I can say! I really do have some pretty rockin' friends - even if most of them are in my computer, LOL!

And finally I want to thank my bestie Vanessa for being there. She's done a great job helping take care of the blog while I'm on my "blogcation" and she's also helped get me excited about coming up with new ideas for this Fall. And if that's not enough, she's been there for me to vent to and that in itself is invaluable :)

So again, sorry for the negativity, thanks for the positivity and pray that things settle down for me because I really just want to feel NORMAL again!

XoXo

  1. *hugs* I completely understand the whole trying to stay positive with the glass half full mentality. I also know that you are not a "complainy type of person. It is just sometimes life has to suck so we can appreciate the more enjoyable times. At least that is what I have been trying to tell myself. Cheer up...you have family and freinds who support you, but you have to stay away from all those Debbie Downers they are a bitch to get over.

  2. I've had a pretty rough summer, too! No one's perfect and it makes sense to me that you'd be a bit down, given your situation. That's hard! It'll get better...

  4. Awww hun we love you, you know that. We all have those times where everything just seems to be going wrong and I know that staying positive can be really hard. I've been going through some crappy stuff as well so I can understand how you feel. I've just recently started college *stressed*, my dad has terminal cancer, and some other stuff. Life can be a bitch and I hate that you're dealing with all of that. Really hope things get better for you and your family soon. *HUGS*

  8. Everyone has those times when life gets overwhelming. The last two months have been that way for me, but the main thing that you should know is that we all completely understand. You have to take care of YOU before you can take care of anyone else. We'll still be here! :)

    Lots of hugs and kisses!!

  14. Sometimes family can be overwhelming and it feels as though everything is coming at you from all directions. It's good you told us how you're feeling; and not bottling it up (as it causes more stress and that's not good for anyone).
Keep that glass half full attitude and positive thoughts in mind and positive things will come your away. We're all here for you when you need us. :)

  16. I'm sorry Isa... I know I'm a stranger since I don't talk/chat/tweet you but I still feel like giving you a cyber hug **cyber hugg** ... I'm not trying to push any religious blah blah your way, but keep in mind... G*D or any higher power will not put anything in your life that you wouldn't be able to overcome. It makes you a better woman when you do, and in the end you'll be even more proud of yourself for accomplishing such a feat... =) Lil spades "yup" lol ... best wishes Isa!! Read a romance novel w/ a bit of comedy!! Books + Starbucks + Cheesecake + Red velvet cupcake = Isa a happy camper ^_^

  21. I'm sorry to hear about all that's going on. I know what you mean, about 2 years ago I lost my job and then my mom got diagnosed w/ cervical cancer and through all those test she got diagnosed with breast cancer as well. So far, she's doing great and is in remission.

Life throws us rocks all the time, and it is with the help of family and friends that we are able to pick them up and throw them back ;-) Just know that you are not alone, even when you feel you are. Sending you lots of hugs and prayers your way!
