We received:

A huuuuuuge thank you to Christen at Goldilox and the Three Weres for IF I DIE by Rachel Vincent.  I read this book the INSTANT that I got it and although I nearly died from the emotional onslaught, it was so worth the wait!!

Thank you ALL for your continued participation in sharing the love of reading with others. We couldn't have asked for better bloggy friends!

PS: Don't forget to leave the links to your R.A.K. October Wrap-Up! posts so we can stop by and check out your loot!!

As you can see from our September Wrap-up Post, we had an AMAZING month!! We had a total of 349 sign-ups.  It just gets better & better every month.

But now it's time for a new month and we are so uber-excited because it's October - our FAVORITE month of the year!!

We want to take a moment to remind everyone that R.A.K. is not about receiving FREE books! It's about sharing the spirit of giving, about passing on the joy of reading and books with others.  If during any given month, you find that you may not be able to give at all, please reconsider signing up for that month.  We've found that there have been quite a few people who have received but not given and that may seem unfair to some.

COMPLETE RULES RE-CAP:
Please read carefully & follow all rules!

  • Please sign-up each month that you can participate (and by participate, we mean give as well as receive).
  • Show off your participation by grabbing our RAK button (code is in the sidebar).
  • Create a wish list (on Amazon, Goodreads, or your blog etc) and post it in the Google Doc located in each R.A.K post for the month.
  • If you choose to do a R.A.K for someone, check out their wish list and contact that blogger directly for their information.
  • Once you receive a RAK, send us an our new email to [rakbybooksoulmates @ gmail . com] so that we can update the Google Doc. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SEND EMAILS TO THIS ADDRESS!
  • E-book participation is limited to files being gifted directly to a person from the e-book store. Amazon's Kindle Store is set up to allow this, as well as the Kobo store and we believe Barnes & Noble as well.
  • At the end of the month, SHOW US YOUR R.A.K by making a "RAK Wrap-Up" post.  This post should include who you SENT gifts to as well who you RECEIVED gifts from :)
OPEN TO EVERYONE including all our International brethren!
Remember, there's always the Book Depository and they offer FREE shipping!

Tips:
1. When talking about RAK on Twitter, please use the hastag (#RAK). It makes it much easier to keep track of the conversations, answer questions and/or tweet back! =)
2. When submitting your wish list, please make sure that it is set to PUBLIC viewing. Some people have run into trouble with wish lists that were set to private. We want to be sure that no one is left out of getting great RAKs.
3. Some of you seem to have gotten frustrated because you can't get your links to appear active. This is a very easy fix :) Just make sure that when you enter your link, do NOT hit the Enter key. Instead, hit the TAB key which will send you to the next field on the form. Additional spaces entered after the link will leave the link inactive. However, if this does happen to you...no worries, we'll fix it for you :)

IMPORTANT UPDATE!
Due to the demands of keeping up with RAK, we have established a new email address dedicated to all RAK related inquiries.  With the help of The Bookish Brunette, we will be using this address ONLY to address everyone's quespsons and comments concerning RAK.  We find that it is too difficult to have questions spread out amongst 3 email addresses & Twitter accounts.  To eliminate confusion or anything slipping through the cracks, we've come up with this solution.

Starting immediatly, please send ALL RAK related messages to:
rakbybooksoulamates @ gmail . com

{Please click on the RAK button above to be re-directed to our Book Soulmates Store on Amazon. You can find all your favorite titles there and add them to your shopping cart.}

Wow! September is finally here and bringing with it a new month of RAKs! August was an amazing month full of gift giving and incredible generosity. Isalys and I are both so proud of everyone for participating and passing on some kindness. We all know how tough this economy has become so imagine how much it means to someone to be able receive that one book they've been longing for but couldn't afford. Yeah, you guys rock. You should all totally pat yourselves on the back! You're all inspirations and make us proud to be a part of such an incredible community.

Now with that said, we have received a few emails with people saying they cannot afford to buy a book for others but would be willing to create something, such as a handmade bookmark or something of that nature.
We'll be adding an extra column for people who would not mind accepting handmade goodies.
The winner of the RAK giveaway will be posted tomorrow {or Saturday} so stay tuned for that!
If you are new to RAK, welcome aboard!

Friday Blog Hop 8.26.11

TGIF! It's finally Friday! I hope the weekend lasts forever! lol
We're not sure what we'll be doing this weekend yet. We may just keep a low profile and try and relax.
What are you guys up to? Reading anything interesting?
Isalys is reading the latest Night Huntress book and I may be starting it too!
Love it!

This week's Book Blogger Hop question is:
“Non-book-related this week!! Do you have pets?”
{This question is soooo right up Isaly's alley!}

I have three munchkins that are like my kids. Toby and Cassie are Teacup Chihuahuas and Ladybug, who we found on the street, we think is part-Chi/part-Italian Greyhound.  Cassie is the tiniest, the oldest and our Diva; she totally rules the roost! Toby is second oldest and a total Mama's Boy and Ladybug is the youngin' and the brains of the bunch.  I love how they each have such distinct personalities yet get along so well.  I am a HUGE dog lover, but my limit is three...as set by my husband because frankly, if it were up to me, we'd have puppies coming out our ears, LOL!

{{Cassie (left), Toby (left of 2nd pic) and Ladybug, the blonde}}

I own a Rotty named Spikey-bear and an African Gray named Ashes. When naming my rotty I couldn't choose between Spike or Bear {b/c he looked like a bear} so I just went with both! Ashes is grey so uh... yeah.. not pretty creative there huh? lol It's funny when I hear Ashes talk because he sounds just like my stepfather! He even tells the dog "Bad boy!"

We hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend!!!
