The Real Vlog is Back!

Time to get up, Buttercup!!

It's another lovely Monday morning and we are happy to say that the REAL vlog starring Isalys AND Vanessa is back :) *woot woot*

We spent an entire Sunday together planning all our awesome blog posts for the year (yes, for the year *phew*) and we made great progress on our top secret project that will be announced very soon...so all-in-all, it was a GREAT day!

ANSWER TO TODAY'S QUESTION:
I don't think we can even begin to tell you about how many books we have on our TBR. Isalys has 60+ books on her Billy that she's vowed to read most of before the end of the year. However, she has hundreds on her TBR list on GOODREADS. Vanessa has tons of books at home which she's working her way through, but has an ever-growing list on her GOODREADS as well. Her goal is to read as many YA books as possible before the end of the year as well.

Bottom line is we have wayyy too many books on our TBR - but we wouldn't have it any other way =)

Dear YouTube...

YOU SUCK!!!

So it's Friday and Vanessa & I were up until midnight last night recording this week's vlog which we were excited to share with you all today. However, it seems that YouTube has decided to be an a**hole today...

Our MP4 videos average 8 to 10 minutes long which is about 350-400 MB {very large files}. No lie, it takes me about 3 to 4 hours to upload one video - a bit excessive, eh?!

I spent the ENTIRE morning trying to upload today's video only to get a message letting me know that "upload failed due to unknown error". Grrrrr!! By this point, it was past noon and my video would theoretically be done by now. However, it was still taking forever to get past even 1%.

There has to be a faster way!! I have been scouring the internet: Googling, Yahooing, FAQ's, help desk...you name it, I searched it and I'm still empty-handed.

If any fellow Vloggers have any suggestions on how to make the upload process faster, I'll be happy to hear them.

I have a new computer, a good internet connection, I've shut off the screensaver and power saver settings...what more can I do?

We are Isalys & Vanessa and we truly are book soulmates! We started blogging in May 2009 at at the encouragement and guidance of our fellow bloggy friend Nely from All About {n}. She had told us all about her blog and how much fun she had with is and how many free books she had gotten. Of course, the words "free and books" in the same sentence piqued our interest. It wasn't until we actually became bloggers that we realized it's so much more than free books. It's a great way to share our love of reading with others who love it as much as we do. It's also helped us refine our reading tastes and become acquainted with some amazing authors we otherwise would not have known about.

I guess you can say that our blog is like our love child now! It's a lot of work, but so worth it.

A few notes:
1) While watching the video after we filmed it, Vanessa caught herself giggling during our "shout-out" to Robyn DeHart. Please note that she was NOT laughing about Robyn, but as some noises that Isalys's silly husband was making in the background. Just wanted to clarify that!

2) One of the books Vanessa bought is referred to as a "dystopian" novel and obviously (per the vid) we weren't sure what that meant. We've since figured it out, lol.

Dystopian = (noun)

A society characterized by human misery, as squalor, oppression, disease, and overcrowding.

So we were thinkin'...

We love doing our VLOGS!! It gives us an excuse to get together, talk for hours and just have fun while we tell you all about the new goodies we've received. Plus you get a feel for what we're like as people...which let's face it, is probably kinda scary! LOL

One of the joys of Vlogging [and blogging] is being able to share our thoughts, ideas, new books and antics with others while getting feedback from you guys, our readers & followers!

However, we've come to realize that since vlogging is relatively new, there is no real way to network our videos...so we basically sit back and hope you guys find it on your dashboard!

We decided to take matters into our own hands and come up with two easy-peasy ways for you to share your VLOG with others.

1- We created a group on BookBlogs.Ning where others can post links to their vlogs. We know that BookBlogs.Ning may be short-lived, but we figured we'd use the time that's left to our advantage.
