  1. That is a very hard question. I have so many that I consider favorites. I really can't choose only one but I will name 5 favorites: 1-Water for Elephants; 2-Snow Flower and the Secret Fan; 3-The Time Traveler's Wife; 4-The Virgin Suicides; 5-The Glass Castle.

I can really keep going with this. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these and I recommend them to everyone all the time. There are so many more though.

  3. The only book I have on my mind right now is Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris. It's one of the best from the series! I cannot wait for the tenth book to come out =)

  4. One of my favorite Novels is “Stones from the River” by Ursula Hegi. From the moment I picked up the book I fell in love with Trudi Montag. I was mesmerized by the fact that through her experiences this dwarf woman lived and felt everything (so called) “normal” women feel …despite the calamitous circumstances surrounding her life. This book captured my heart and has stayed with me since.

  5. My favorite book at the moment is "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. It's a bleak and slightly depressing book, but realistic and just darn good. I can't describe the way I felt when I read it. I've always wondered what the end of the world would be like and now I have an idea!

  7. Hello, fellow book worms…

I just finished reading an e-book titled “A Blessing in the Storm.” The author is a woman I’ve recently befriended who has blessed my life immensely.

“A Blessing in the Storm” is Part 1 of Lori’s Memoir. Her second e-book is in the making.

Here is Lori’s blog page: http://www.lorilaws.com/, in case you would like to read more about her.

The following is a note I dropped Lori after having read her book:

    Lori,

When I first read the title of your book, I thought I would be reading a good book about a beautiful woman who is living with a horrible disease and through her devastation she came to know the Lord. I assumed it would be inspiring, mostly because I find your messages very uplifting and through them …you’ve touched my life. I knew I would enjoy reading “your” story, even before I started.

While your book is in fact “all of the above,” I find we can all relate to your book, in many ways!

Your book speaks about overcoming obstacles. It speaks about struggles through adversity as well as perseverance, sensitivity as well as insensitivity, pain and suffering, hope and faith. Ultimately, it speaks of your personal affirmations of God’s unconditional love!

I genuinely believe that regardless of whether ones limitations are in fact, physical, or emotional, everyone should read this AMAZING book, which inspires us to find God’s purpose in our lives.

With all my heart, I thank you.

    Mary.
