Tuesday Teasers & New Releases

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading and it asks us to...
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share a couple of “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
Isalys's Teaser:
"All things considered, he wasn't sure he needed to meet his destiny this ten minutes. Besides, even if she wasn't his fate, this human female was extraordinary...something special, something he had to have."
~p. 64 from "Lover Eternal" by J.R. Ward

Vanessa's Teaser:
" Stepping through the glass doors was like stepping back in time. The store had a papery old-book smell, and it was nice. I breathed deeply, briefly wondering if I could make a perfume that smelled like old books.... "
~p. 380 from "The Hollow" by Jessica Verday

  5. How's The Hollow coming along Vane? I bought it one of those crazy nights at B&N and I still haven't read it. I read a negative review about it and it ruined it for me. How do you feel about it? Is it worth me reading it?

  6. Nel, I'm really liking The Hollow. Not much action but it's got potential. I did get attached to the main character and her love interest. I skipped to the end (b/c I'm a masochist) and I know the ending has a great twist to it. It made my jaw drop and say "No Friggin way!" so I'm really looking forward to finishing it and read what else happens. I know there's going to be a sequel so I'm sure the author will elaborate on the love parts some more. (It's a little drawn out in this book). I'll let you know my full thoughts on it when I finish it :)

  7. I've read a lot of people's comments about J.R. Ward too, and maybe should check out some of her books.

Both teasers are great! Though I confess that my fave would be about the books. I don't want a perfume that smells like old books so much as I want the books themselves!

Anyway, good teasers. My own teaser is at Bookishgal.
