Carrie Ryan News - Book Release and Movie!

First piece of fantabulous news:
The third book in the "Forest of Hands and Teeth Trilogy" will be released March 2011!
**Woot Woot**
The only sad part is that we have to wait sooooo long, but hey, at least they finally chose a date!

(Not the official book cover - but it's awesome right?!)

Synopsis (May contain spoilers):
There are many things that Annah would like to forget: the look on her sister's face when she and Elias left her behind in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, her first glimpse of the horde as they found their way to the Dark City, the sear of the barbed wire that would scar her for life. But most of all, Annah would like to forget the morning Elias left her for the Recruiters.
Annah's world stopped that day and she's been waiting for him to come home ever since. Without him, her life doesn't feel much different from that of the dead that roam the wasted city around her. Then she meets Catcher and everything feels alive again.

Except, Catcher has his own secrets—dark, terrifying truths that link him to a past Annah's longed to forget, and to a future too deadly to consider. And now it's up to Annah—can she continue to live in a world drenched in the blood of the living? Or is death the only escape from the Return's destruction?

Next awesome piece of funtastic news:
According to ReelzChannel, The Forest of Hands and Teeth will be turned into a movie! Unfortunately, the article seems to through around Kristen Stewart's name as a possibility for the lead role *barf*

YA Zombies to Hit the Big Screen; Kristen Stewart Likely to Star
Carrie Ryan's young adult zombie novel The Forest of Hands and Teeth has just been sold to Seven Star Pictures, the studio behind Kristen Stewart's upcoming movie K-11.
The novel, which was published in March by Delacorte Books for Young Readers, has been an instant hit with critics and book bloggers. It tells the story of Mary, a girl living in a small village bordered by a fence to keep out the Unconsecrated -- savage zombies intent on destroying the town and everyone in it. Add a little bit of romance and a gutsy female heroin, and you've got a teen thriller to rival Twilight.
Rumor has it that an A-list actress is tipped to star in the movie (could it be Kristen Stewart?), and a first draft of the screenplay is being written as soon as possible. With the popularity of vampires, werewolves, and all things supernatural currently dominating the literary world, it seems book adaptations are the way to go. What could be next? Our money's on Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments trilogy. Somewhere, somebody will be closing a movie deal on that one soon.

So... what do you guys think?!

  1. Oh hooray! I saw that cover the other day, I just didn't know it wasn't the official one.. Cool.

Please no more Kristen Stewart. There's only so much I can take of her. The only thing worse than her would be Miley Cyrus... double barf.

  3. Haven't read the books yet (though the first one's on my bookshelf), but I think I'd cry if Kristen Stewart actually got the role. And they call her an A-list actress?!?!? Shame.

  6. I would LOVE to see that movie! Unless Kristin Stewart is the protagonist... because she is the worst.

Wouldn't a Knife of Never Letting Go movie be awesome? I'd love to see how they did the "noise."
