Greg and Tess MacAvoy are one of four prominent Nantucket couples who count each other as best friends. As pillars of their close-knit community, the MacAvoys, Kapenashes, Drakes, and Wheelers are important to their friends and neighbors, and especially to each other. But just before the beginning of another idyllic summer, Greg and Tess are killed when their boat capsizes during an anniversary sail. As the warm weather approaches and the island mourns their loss, nothing can prepare the MacAvoy's closest friends for what will be revealed.
Once again, Hilderbrand masterfully weaves an intense tale of love and loyalty set against the backdrop of endless summer island life.-- Little, Brown
What a great summer read. I took this book to the beach this weekend and literally finished it in a few hours. I couldn't put it down! I loved how each chapter is written in the first person of a different character. It allows you to truly experience the characters emotions. The strong bond formed by the the friends in this book remind me of my own friends and what I hope to have with them when we're all married with kids (Minus the deep dark secrets, drug abuse, and deaths of course!!) I also liked how this book has love, mystery, betrayal and it keeps you wondering if Tess and Greg died accidentally or were they actually murdered, and why? I highly recommend this book and hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a good read!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a great book that I would really enjoy. Glad you liked it, and awesome review :)
ReplyDeleteThe book reminded me of gossiping. The story line is so good, it is hard to put the book down, to think one tragedy could open such a big can of worms. I like all of Elin Hilderbrands books that I have read.
