FEARLESS IN BATTLE!
His surcoat still bloody from battle, William FitzAlan comes to claim the strategic borderlands granted to him by the king. One last prize awaits him at the castle gates: the lovely Lady Catherine Rayburn.
TENDER IN BED!
Catherine risked everything to spy for the crown. Her reward? Her lands are declared forfeit and she is given this choice: marry FitzAlan or be taken to the Tower. Catherine agrees to give her handsome new husband her body, but she's keeping secrets, and dares not give him her heart. As passion ignites and danger closes in, Catherine and William must learn to trust in each other to save their marriage, their land, and their very lives.
This is Margaret Mallory's first publication and congratulations to her for her success! She truly did a great job creating a captivating story with interesting and likable characters.
William FitzAlan is the epitome of what a knight should be. He is kind-hearted, noble, honorable, and brave. Catherine has been the victim of a cruel marriage for far too long and has decided to take matters into her own hands. She reveals her husband's treasonous ways to the king thereby 'eliminating' him. The king, as punishment for her husband's betrayal, decides to lock her up in the tower UNLESS the revered knight, Lord William FitzAlan agrees to marry her the very same day that she became a widow.
In the hopes of saving her from a cruel imprisonment, William agrees to take her as his wife - and it certainly doesn't hurt that she's quite the fair-haired beauty! William is patient with her, not forcing her to consummate their marriage until she's ready (understanding that bedding someone you just met isn't easy) so long as she agrees not to tell anyone about their arrangement. However, his patience is tested after several weeks of a cold bed. Having only experienced the barbarous love-making of her deceased husband, she is afraid of what giving herself to this man would be like. When she finally decides that it's time to take the next step, unexpected passions are unleashed! He is far more tender than she ever expected possible.
William and Catherine have many obstacles to overcome - including learning to trust each other and their [respective] secrets! However, are they ready to reveal those secrets? What will happen if they do? And more importantly, can they truly learn to love each other?
This story is filled with all the right ingredients for a great romance: lust, love, hate, intrigue, action, and drama. Do yourself a favor and enter to win a copy of "Knight of Desire" - you'll be glad you did :)
